5 Reasons Children Like This Little Girl Need Your Support
The image of the little girl was taken by myself whilst on a recce trip to Kenya for a luxury fashion client of mine. It changed the way I think and feel about the world issues effecting people that more often do not deserve to suffer like they are suffering NOW.
5 Reasons Why Children In Africa Need Your Support
It is important to note that developing countries do need donations and sponsorships from developed economies in order to fight starvation. Some facts about these starving children in Africa.
Many African children that are starving live in the streets. They are orphaned, homeless, hopeless, and desperate. These children are very young with no mother, no father, no home, and no food to eat. Bellow are the 5 reasons why children are starving in Africa today.
1. Political unrest and civil wars
One of the main reasons there is starvation in Africa is there is so much political unrest that is prevalent in many African countries. Political unrest causes starvation in children this means they go for days without food. War has also caused poverty for children in many African countries.
2. Diversification of funds to increase military budget
War causes economic and social instability and generally increases a country's military budget. This obviously leaves far less for the social welfare of African children.
3. Economic conditions
The economic conditions of a African countries contribute to children starving. Most of the African countries are struggling to meet the needs of their citizens. If the economic conditions are very poor means that the majority of the population lives below the poverty line the effect is also felt severely by the children.
4. Drought
African families get food through farming and in recent years due to global warming droughts are prevalent and entire families struggle to put food on the table for their children.
5. Many families are child headed families because of HIV/AIDS
The HIV pandemic has caused many children to loss parents meaning a plunge into poverty, end of education, and starvation escalates.
What 5 Things Am I Doing To Make A Difference?
1: Creating a higher level of consciousness to the above issues through the various social media facilities that are available to me to instigate actions, actions that change lives.
2: To achieve this I am campaigning and publishing several books of my images to sell along with several exhibitions of my own images along with images taken during a photographic teaching tour of Africa to raise awareness and funding to feed children and more.
3: Over the next year I will be photographing c200 people that are prominant faces of The Cote d'Azur, these will include the man that plays his accordion on the street to the multi millionair that lives on the biggest yacht in the harbour.
4: There will be exhibition archive quality prints of these images produced for an exhibition that will be auctioned off along with a limited edition fine art table top book containing these images to raise funding for the project Children In Africa Need Your Support or CIANYS for short.. etc etc etc MORE INFO
5: Along with the above I have set up an association with UNICEF so people can donate or get involved in helping support this cause more directly. MORE INFO: http://fundraise.unicef.org.uk/MyPage/Bruce-Smith-Children-In-Africa-Need-Your-Support
